SAVANNAH - John P. Roszkowiak, 83, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015.
A native of Camden, NJ, Mr. Roszkowiak had lived in Savannah since 1997.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in France and the United States. He later joined the New Jersey National Guard and was discharged as a Master Sergeant.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Edith Roszkowiak of Savannah; three sons, John P. Roszkowiak of Ignacio, CA, James E. Roszkowiak, and Jeffrey D. Roszkowiak, both of Savannah; a sister, Hazel Whitehead of Lancaster, NY; 4 grandchildren, Grant Roszkowiak, Robert Roszkowiak, Emily Brown and Chanel Valdes; and two great-grandchildren, Gracie and James.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church. The interment will be in Beaufort National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances to the Urban Hope Fund, 909 Wilmington Island Rd., Savannah, GA 31410.
